Service: Selected Professional Activities

I am an elected Student Representative (2008-2012) for the Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA). In collaboration with my co-representative and the Executive Council, I continually strive to represent the interests of emerging scholars who research adolescent development. The SRA Student Page details our current projects. Visit our Facebook Page or find out more about the 2010 biennial meeting in Philadelphia.

My affiliation with the Public Scholarship Associates reflects my commitment to engaging in teaching and research activities that is relevant to social problems faced by individuals and communities. I have led and participated in a variety of activities with the Public Scholarship Graduate Group;  we host monthly brown-bags and engage in informal discussion with each other and public scholarship faculty.

A team of colleagues and I have recently received recognition as an SRA Civic Development (CIV DEV) Study Group. Our planned activities include hosting preconference meetings to SRA and SRCD  focused on various subthemes within the field of civic development, publishing a special issue on civic development, and ultimately writing a grant to address new questions in the field.
